New Feature/interview about Ascension

A huge thank you to Rob from Ban Ban Ton Ton for the beautiful feature on our album Ascension. Such a pleasure to answer the questions of a beautiful soul living in the mountains of Japan. The feature includes an amalgamation of my analogue photography, poetry and our new experimental video. Make sure you give it a read! A little taste of the introduction: 🏔

“Just like anything with a pulse I was immediately struck by the voice of Rebecca Rose Harris. Her burning torch songs that tap into the shared root of jazz, folk, and the blues. The almost impossible octave flights that brought to mind a primal talent like Jeff Buckley. But there was also the rich, deep intimacy of the production, and the amazing tightness of the playing. The range and variety of Franklin Mockett`s guitar chops. From intricate jangle to space-rock freak-out. How each song seemed like a ceremony. A spell. A cathartic invocation and release of sum magick.”

New music video coming...

A little insight into something that we are releasing very soon… 'From The Fields We Once Knew' is an improvisational piece of music paired with footage from the road trip that instigated the very existence of Samana. From the wild forests of Montenegro to the flower meadows of Serbia, the white mountains of Austria to the cobalt blue rivers of Slovenia, this composition of sound and vision is an exploration of the harmony between the freedom and possibilities of the open road.

'The life of man in every part has need of harmony and rhythm' - Plato.

EU Tour

From both of our hearts we wanted to say a big thank you to those of you wonderful humans who have been so welcoming and hospitable during these past few weeks of our EU tour! We have faced some real difficulties along the way but with determination, will power and true love, we saw it through to the end. (even if our car was towed back home with all our equipment inside) The hard times have only re~enforced the kindness of the people we have known and met along the way.

BBC Radio Wales

Thank you to Adam Walton on BBC Radio Wales for spinning our track ‘Harvest’ on his show last night which you can listen to here

Watch the music video for our single Harvest below

“Harvest is the outcome of a social experiment, filmed over the duration of two hours, designed to explore and capture one of the fundamental concepts behind the album Ascension; the transitioning between one plain of consciousness to another. With dance being one the most primitive forms of human behaviour, we created a musical environment that shifted between five notions. Orchestrated with the intention of removing each individual from their bodies, from time and from their conscious state of awareness, to a state of catharsis and transcendence, we documented the language of movement that became the immediate dialogue of their subconscious, and in turn, witnessed the collective ascension of the group to pass into an altered state; a higher frequency and dimension of being and energy.”
