“Samana are probably my artist of the year and definitely my favourite find of the year!” - Guy Garvey
"Samana’s music seems to exist at the meeting point of a variety of genres, one second they’re dipping their toes into the psych-folk sounds of the 1960’s, the next they’re channelling Mazzy Star-like dream pop, or twanging nods to the Delta Blues. The pair always seem to find a way to root their music into the idea of connection, their songs are stories of humanity, nature and the pursuit of understanding. Their music seems to tap into something that’s almost out of fashion in music now; a wide-eyed desire to explore freedom, the natural world and community, to tap into something bigger than the self and to find a different way to live life outside of the everyday."
A huge thank you to Clash Magazine for premiering our music video for 'Live For The Road'
"Surging, beatific songwriting, there's an Autumn charm to Samana's work, a kind of gilded appeal that resonates with folk charm" - CLASH
An incredible day of the rebalance of restoration, of hope and of humanity. Theres a huge amount to be done to bridge a divided nation, and indeed a divided world, but the abundant, radiant smiles of today give great comfort to a future where bridges will replace walls. Over the next three weeks we have so much to share with you, to extend feelings of freedom, of dreams and of discovery during this time. Keep your eyes open dear friends...
The Exclusive Edition, double vinyl version of Ascension.
Collectors Item
This vinyl edition Includes a square insert with printed lyrics, photographs & a conceptual hidden track titled ‘Ascension’. Also Included inside is an exclusive, secret map, hand-drafted by a cartographer which will lead you to the Ascension obelisk (as seen on the front cover of the album), a limestone sculpture we had made to metaphysically represent all of the philosophical elements that intertwine to form the album. This sculpture is erected on a undisclosed mountainous location. This map will allow you to undergo an internal and external journey into Ascension. Upon completion you will receive one final gift to celebrate the ritual of your ascent.
"Ascension is the passage from one plane of thought and existence to another, though deliberations of love, loss and freedom. The album, which was composed in the remote valleys of Wales solely by Rebecca Rose Harris and Franklin Mockett, offers ruminations' of solitude in the isolation of nature. Each song is a meditation laid to tape, forming an album of a natural order of thought and feeling to take us to great heights."
